This investment project will rehabilitate 80 km of railway line from the town of Šamac to the town of Rječica. This line is part of Rail Corridor Vc, and the indicative extension of the pan-European Mediterranean Corridor to the Western Balkans.
The investments covered by this project contribute to the creation of a functional railway route along this Corridor and, thus, to the progressive integration into the EU transport market, as well as to opening new opportunities for integrated and sustainable economic and social growth in the region.
The EU has provided technical assistance for project preparation and co-funds the investments under Flagship 2 - Connecting North to South - of the Economic and Investment Plan for the Western Balkans through the WBIF.
