Public Sector Energy Efficiency Project: Energy Efficiency Investments in Healthcare Buildings

The Public Sector Energy Efficiency Project (PSEEP) in North Macedonia addresses the country’s reliance on inefficient coal-fired generation and high energy consumption. It focuses on energy efficiency in public buildings, aiming to achieve savings, reduce CO2 emissions, and establish an Energy Efficiency Fund. Sub-loans and grants are provided to municipalities for cost-effective renovations, benefitting around 100,000 direct beneficiaries, including vulnerable groups. By improving energy efficiency in healthcare facilities, municipal buildings, and public lighting, the project aims to reduce emissions, enhance comfort, and lower energy bills.

The WBIF Bilateral Donors co-fund the investments in healthcare facilities under Flagship 6 - Renovation wave - of the Economic and Investment Plan for the Western Balkans.
