This intervention dealt with the identification of priority investments required to facilitate the gasification of Montenegro. It also defined the objectives of cleaner energy supplies with reduced CO2 and greenhouse gas emissions by replacing the direct use of electricity for heating and cooling.
Technical assistance, provided through WBIF, has supported the development of a comprehensive natural gas master plan including, inter alia: gas demand and supply scenarios by specific major sectors (residential, commercial, institutional, industrial); gas infrastructure priority investment plan (both transportation and distribution systems) with cost estimates; pre-feasibility level analysis of potential infrastructure projects; the promotion of utilisation of natural gas; gas pricing policy, tariffs and regulations; and development of local knowledge and skills within relevant institutions.
