In line with National Judiciary Reform Strategy, the Government of Serbia has foreseen the modernisation and improvement of the physical judiciary buildings and facilities. The judiciary investments in Belgrade are interconnected and aim at bringing the judiciary buildings up to adequate and modern standards and requirements which shall lead to a better and more secure functioning of the courts. In addition, the investments will reduce long-term operational costs.
As part of this programme, WBIF has supported the rehabilitation and reconstruction of facilities that belonged to the Military Technical Institute at 15 Kataniceva Street in order to house the Prosecutor’s Office.
In June 2014, WBIF approved a technical assistance grant to finance the supervision of refurbishment works on the Kataniceva building and provide support to the project implementation unit (PIU).
