This WBIF technical assistance grant aims to support the rural broadband infrastructure development in Serbia through the preparation of the complete project documentation necessary for the implementation and deployment of a rural broadband network in schools.
The scope of technical assistance includes detailed fixed broadband availability mapping, Feasibility Study, Cost-benefit analysis (CBA), Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) and Preliminary Designs for next generation broadband connectivity for rural schools in white zones.
The investment will enable the development of infrastructure and inter-connection of the existing operators’ networks in schools in rural (white) zones. Schools will obtain fibre connectivity (1 Gbps+), while neighbouring households (private investment part that will follow mid-mile CAPEX investment by the government) will obtain 30+Mbps connectivity.
