The City of Mostar, located approximately 120 km south of Sarajevo, is one of the largest cities in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The city is located on the banks of the Neretva River, which runs through the Neretva Valley in the southern part of the country prior to discharging into the Adriatic Sea.
The construction of a wastewater treatment plant in Mostar was completed in 2017. During the period 2014 - 2020, two main sewage collectors on the left and right banks (LB, RB) of the Neretva River and the Neretva River Siphon were constructed.
The construction of the secondary sewage network and service connections of both Neretva riverbanks has been considered Phase 2 of investments. This phase consists of the development of needed documentation and construction of a secondary sewerage network with a total length of approx. 46 km and 10,000 connections in the urban areas of the City of Mostar to the already built LB and RB wastewater collectors and WWTP.
This WBIF technical assistance grant finances the preparation of technical documentation for Phase 2 implementation. The activities consist of the update of the Feasibility Study (FS), elaboration of the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA), development of the Detailed Design (DD) and preparation of the Tender Dossiers (TDs) for construction works and supervision of works.
