Serbia is implementing a comprehensive investment programme for the upgrade and reconstruction of priority judiciary buildings and facilities across the country as part of the National Judicial Reform Strategy. The programme facilitates the country’s EU integration and accession.
The WBIF project covers (i) refurbishment of the Justice Palace of the Belgrade District Court (the Higher Court), (ii) rehabilitation and reconstruction of facilities that belonged to the Military Technical Institute at 15 Kataniceva Street in order to house the Prosecutor’s Office, and (iii) construction of a new wing for the Special Court located in Ustanicka Street. The financing support covers technical assistance for project preparation (feasibility study, preliminary and main design) and implementation (tender documents, supervision of works and interior design).
The rehabilitation of the Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade is now complete, and the new premises have been commissioned. Works are currently ongoing on the other components, with WBIF grant assistance for the supervision services.
